Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years of direct people management.
- Proven experience managing distributed teams, including offshore or vendor engineers across different timezones.
- Technical depth sufficient to pressure-test direction and sign off on scoping within a TypeScript/Python stack.
- Fluency in modern delivery tools such as Linear and Kanban-style workflows.
- Strong track record of partnering with product managers to scope and build projects.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and workflow integration.
- Excellent written communication skills for documentation, feedback, and project updates.
- High agency and ability to drive forward independently without detailed instructions.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day work of engineers across internal and partner teams by assigning tasks, unblocking issues, and tracking delivery.
- Own the ticket assignment process in Linear by routing clear work, maintaining a stocked queue of fully scoped tickets, and escalating large project needs.
- Act as the technical arm of the product team by translating product direction into technical requirements and signing off before work begins.
- Balance individual workloads according to capacity and working styles for engineers across multiple timezones.
- Run 1:1 meetings, provide performance feedback, and build professional growth plans for direct reports.
- Coordinate delivery across separate teams and manage shared workstreams such as bug fixes.
- Partner with engineering leadership on hiring, process refinement, and team structure.
- Champion spec-driven development and AI-assisted engineering practices.
