Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails or similar MVC frameworks.
  • Proficiency in React and experience with React Native.
  • Proven experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with Redis and Sidekiq in a production environment.
  • Experience leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize features or products.
  • Ability to handle complex, ambiguous tasks independently.
  • Strong understanding of business trade-offs and ability to communicate technical risks and benefits.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a focus on team mentorship and feedback.
  • Must live and work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and deliver complex, cross-cutting features and systems using Ruby on Rails, Postgres, GraphQL, REST, React, and React Native.
  • Lead efforts to address technical debt and system reliability through proactive refactoring and optimization.
  • Influence system architecture and design to anticipate future needs and drive long-term improvements.
  • Set and uphold high standards for code quality, testing coverage, and documentation, and mentor other engineers.
  • Improve internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems to enhance developer experience.
  • Facilitate technical discussions to navigate trade-offs and align the team on solutions.
  • Partner with product managers and designers to identify technical opportunities and risks early in the discovery process.
