Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or another relevant discipline.
  • At least 2 years of direct experience in financial crime risk, compliance, or audit within professional services or the Canadian financial services industry.
  • Experience conducting audits of financial crime compliance programs and performing risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of financial crime compliance including fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions.
  • Proficiency in compliance monitoring, internal controls assessments, and risk management frameworks.
  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs, policies, and operational controls.
  • Strong analytical skills to summarize and interpret complex data.
  • Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Professional certification such as CFE, CAMS, CIA, or CPA is required, or candidates must be actively pursuing an applicable certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Assess financial crime compliance risks across financial services organizations, with particular focus on fraud and fraud risk management.
  • Execute compliance monitoring activities, internal control risk assessments, and controls testing to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Analyze current and emerging regulations and assess their relevance and impact on client businesses.
  • Support the development, enhancement, and implementation of financial crime risk management policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
  • Present data and insights to identify risks, trends, and control gaps to client stakeholders including executives.
  • Support project execution including scope definition, staffing, and deliverables management.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise Interns and Consultants.
