Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading, managing, or functionally acting as a manager for data practitioners.
- Exceptional analytical judgment with the ability to calibrate depth and rigor to specific decision needs.
- Deep, hands-on SQL proficiency.
- Working fluency with dbt-style data modeling.
- Proficiency with modern cloud data warehouses and BI tools.
- Strong visual and written communication skills for presenting complex data insights.
- Product-manager-like instinct for identifying core business needs behind requests.
- Experience working in a growth-stage, product-oriented technology company.
- Ability to work full-stack from raw data preparation to final analytical output.
- Pragmatic approach to utilizing data as one of many inputs for decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of Data Analysts, fostering technical growth, business context, and clear communication.
- Develop and improve data team practices for work prioritization, knowledge sharing, and quality control.
- Drive the team's transition toward domain specialization while maintaining collaborative synergy.
- Navigate and evaluate the implications of AI on data workflows, tooling, and internal data accessibility.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate ambiguous needs into structured, impactful data projects.
- Contribute directly to data modeling, metric definitions, and complex analytical deep dives as a player-coach.
