Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience in Lead or Staff-level roles focusing on event, streaming, or data-infrastructure systems.
- Production experience with event streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Proficiency in Python services and APIs (e.g., FastAPI).
- Experience with pipeline processing using Spark, EMR, or equivalent.
- Strong proficiency in designing and operating systems on AWS (S3, SQS/SNS, Lambda, RDS).
- Fluency in Python, or substantial experience in Scala and Java.
- Skilled with data stores such as Postgres, MySQL, Redis, or DynamoDB.
- Experience with workflow orchestrators like Apache Airflow.
- Track record of owning high-throughput production pipelines, including observability and SLO management.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and launch event-pipeline features in production while owning associated architectural decisions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to improve system cost, latency, or operational efficiency.
- Engage in architectural discussions and define stable contracts with downstream consumers.
- Mentor team members through design reviews, code reviews, and pair programming.
- Partner with Product and Data teams to convert technical SLAs into functioning systems.
- Own service instrumentation, alerting, and on-call responsibilities to ensure pipeline stability.
