Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end India payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll best practices, statutory requirements, and compliance processes.
  • Expertise in reconciliations, payroll controls, and data quality processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for investigating and resolving payroll issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with payroll platforms and India payroll systems (e.g., GreytHR).
  • Understanding of payroll KPIs, SLAs, and operational reporting.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor in an asynchronous environment.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other payroll professionals is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full end-to-end payroll cycle, including processing, statutory filings, exceptions, approvals, and payments.
  • Act as the country payroll subject matter expert, providing guidance and operational expertise.
  • Ensure payroll data accuracy, integrity, and quality standards.
  • Prepare and review payroll journals, reconciliations, and financial information.
  • Monitor payroll KPIs and SLAs to identify operational gaps and maintain service standards.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate payroll processes for operational efficiency.
  • Mentor and support other payroll specialists by promoting best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Payroll, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams.
