Requirements
- Experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or finance business partnering.
- Exposure to vendor spend, forecasting, variance analysis, and month-end close activities.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including the ability to work with detailed data and build models from scratch.
- Experience with cloud and AI vendor spend.
- Ability to translate complex financial and operational information into clear narratives for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, work independently, and communicate clearly in an asynchronous environment.
- Cloud cost management and FinOps experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage and report on cloud and AI-related expenses, maintaining forecast models that incorporate actual results, usage drivers, and business drivers.
- Execute recurring month-end close activities, including accruals, allocations, reconciliations, variance analysis, and close commentary.
- Support forecasting and annual planning cycles, and build or enhance financial models to answer new and evolving business questions.
- Partner with engineering, product, procurement, accounting, and finance stakeholders to gather inputs, resolve data questions, explain results, and support spending decisions.
- Access and analyze cloud billing information from provider consoles, billing exports, and other data sources, then translate findings into clear narratives, recommendations, and decision-support materials.
- Use AI tools to automate and improve recurring analysis, reporting, data preparation, and other finance workflows while improving data quality, accuracy, scalability, and operating efficiency.
- Own deliverables, communicate progress and risks proactively, and manage changing priorities in GitLab’s distributed, asynchronous environment.
