Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in federal IT, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or comparable technical environments.
  • 4+ years of experience leading technical programs, platform initiatives, or complex cross-functional engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering against FedRAMP, DoD IL4/IL5, STIG, or DoD Cloud Computing SRG requirements.
  • Strong AWS expertise (ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM); AWS GovCloud experience strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code, Terraform, container platforms, and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, modern platform engineering, and automation within federal or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Proven ability to manage complex initiatives involving numerous stakeholders and technical dependencies.
  • Experience building, mentoring, or leading technical teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to influence technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of complex federal platform, IT services, cloud infrastructure, automation, and security programs.
  • Partner with Engineering, Security, Compliance, Product, and Operations leadership to establish program strategies and delivery plans.
  • Oversee major AWS and federal cloud initiatives, focusing on scalability, security, and operational performance.
  • Drive Infrastructure-as-Code and cloud automation practices, including Terraform adoption.
  • Lead enterprise disaster recovery programs and cross-region failover architecture.
  • Drive Zero Trust identity initiatives and automated identity lifecycle management.
  • Support FedRAMP High hardening, STIG validation, and alignment with DoD Impact Levels.
  • Build, recruit, mentor, and develop a growing Federal Platform Operations engineering team.
