Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience managing phone systems and responding to voicemails.
- Knowledge of medical surgical procedures and pathology diagnosis.
- Familiarity with charting and patient scheduling processes.
- Ability to navigate electronic medical records (EMA/EMR).
- Understanding of medical terminology.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones and return voicemails to handle patient questions or route appropriately.
- Relay pathology results and assist in scheduling follow-up appointments and minor procedures.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within the EMA system.
- Schedule surgeries according to provider-specific templates and guidelines.
- Prioritize skin cancer cases based on size, location, and aggressiveness.
- Explain Mohs procedures to patients and manage expectations.
- Perform pre-operative assessments and coordinate necessary medications as directed by providers.
