Requirements
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and completion of an appropriate nursing specialty training program.
- At least 3 years of professional nursing/LPN experience.
- Experience or familiarity with medical record auditing, quality data collection, clinical documentation, or healthcare performance improvement.
- Familiarity with CMS, The Joint Commission, quality reporting programs, and healthcare performance measures.
- Experience with Core Measures and Get With The Guidelines® Stroke abstraction.
- Strong ability to collect, analyze, reconcile, and interpret healthcare data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work a full-time 40-hour Monday-to-Friday daytime schedule in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ongoing medical record audits, including focused open and closed record reviews, electronic health record audits, ambulatory care reviews, and other quality-related assessments.
- Evaluate healthcare services and clinical documentation against regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and applicable quality and performance measures.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and enter clinical data into relevant databases while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Generate quality and performance reports and provide findings to appropriate clinical and organizational stakeholders.
- Review data and documentation to identify opportunities for process improvement, patient safety enhancements, and reduction of potential errors or adverse events.
- Support compliance with requirements and recommendations from regulatory and accrediting bodies, including CMS, The Joint Commission, and other applicable quality programs.
- Interact professionally with physicians and other stakeholders by providing information, suggesting alternatives, and supporting data integrity.
