Requirements
- Proven track record leading platform migration initiatives (v1 to v2 transitions).
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and data pipeline engineering at enterprise scale.
- Strong command of streaming and queuing infrastructure (Kafka), including partitioning and idempotency.
- Fluency in relational and document data modeling (Postgres and MongoDB).
- Solid AWS fundamentals.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience collaborating with leadership to define multi-quarter technical roadmaps.
- Ability to articulate complex systems tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to leverage AI tools to amplify skills and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of resource data models from MongoDB to a schema-aware, Postgres-backed solution.
- Drive complex technical solutions across multiple teams dependent on the Foundations platform.
- Design and evolve data ingestion and pipeline architectures for high-throughput, terabyte-scale streams.
- Transform internal Query APIs into production-grade platforms with versioning, isolation, and predictable latency.
- Diagnose and resolve failures in high-volume production environments.
- Mentor senior engineers and provide architectural guidance across the team.
- Champion engineering excellence in reliability, observability, and operational hygiene.
