Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data center, telecommunications, structured cabling, network infrastructure, or critical-facility field operations.
- 3+ years of experience leading field crews as a superintendent, foreman, lead technician, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of rack-and-stack, copper cabling, fiber-optic cabling, labeling, cable management, grounding, and bonding.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, cable schedules, rack elevations, port maps, MOPs, SOPs, and runbooks.
- Experience working in active data centers, colocation facilities, or hyperscale environments.
- Strong understanding of field planning, sequencing, manpower planning, and schedule recovery.
- Ability to travel approximately 75% to 90% nationwide.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background, drug, safety, and site-access screening requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work from ladders/lifts/platforms, and perform extended field walks.
- Experience with project tracking tools like Monday.com, Smartsheet, or Procore is preferred.
- Certifications such as BICSI, OSHA 30, or CPR/First Aid are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations for data center construction, deployment, remediation, and service projects.
- Manage technicians, lead technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and assigned field crews.
- Coordinate manpower, tools, materials, equipment, access, and workspace readiness.
- Inspect completed work for quality, labeling, port accuracy, cable management, cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
- Drive punch-list closure, rework correction, closeout documentation, and customer-readiness reviews.
- Identify and escalate field risks, blockers, material shortages, access issues, and safety concerns.
- Ensure accurate daily reports, progress updates, issue logs, and closeout evidence.
- Enforce site safety requirements, PPE rules, stop-work expectations, and customer procedures.
