Requirements
- Production experience with multiple programming languages, frameworks, and paradigms.
- Comfortable working with or becoming an expert in PHP and JavaScript.
- Experience working at scale, either on backend performance or supporting large, diverse userbases.
- Strong attention to detail and quality in work.
- Ability to understand and navigate layers of abstraction.
- Comfortable with the debugging process as a core challenge.
- Available and willing to travel 3-4 weeks per year for in-person team meetups.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain products within the Automattic ecosystem such as WordPress.com, WooCommerce, and Tumblr.
- Engage in daily deployments supported by peer code review and continuous integration processes.
- Contribute to an open-source development model.
- Collaborate across multiple global communication channels.
- Debug complex technical challenges across various abstraction layers.
