Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping software products in professional engineering environments.
- Strong experience designing and developing backend systems, with significant hands-on experience in Python preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build production-quality software and contribute across the product development lifecycle.
- Comfortable taking ownership of substantial systems, making architectural decisions, and operating with limited supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
- Demonstrated drive, resilience, initiative, and willingness to take responsibility.
- Experience building B2B SaaS products is a plus.
- 0-to-1 experience taking products or major features from concept to production is highly desirable.
- Broader frontend or fullstack experience is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Develop backend and fullstack capabilities that are performant, reliable, scalable, and continuously improving.
- Take significant ownership of backend systems and services, primarily using Python, while making thoughtful decisions around architecture, scalability, and maintainability.
- Partner directly with founders and senior technical leaders to define engineering priorities, architectural approaches, and the technical roadmap.
- Translate product and business requirements into robust technical implementations, taking ownership from initial design through deployment and iteration.
- Tackle difficult problems across backend infrastructure, AI-enabled product functionality, system performance, and reliability.
- Proactively identify opportunities, resolve technical issues, and take responsibility for meaningful portions of the product without requiring extensive direction.
- Work closely with engineers, AI specialists, product stakeholders, and company leadership in a highly collaborative environment.
- Help establish strong development practices, technical standards, and a culture centered on speed, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
