Requirements
- A minimum of seven years of full-time professional experience as a backend software engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent training.
- Extensive experience with Python, including complex data processing.
- Advanced experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Practical experience with Linux and Bash scripting.
- Practical experience with Docker containers.
- Practical experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, CloudFront).
- Familiarity with Django or Flask.
- Demonstrated ability to apply design patterns for modular and efficient software.
- Strong ability to present and explain complex ideas clearly to non-technical colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend features for EUDR services.
- Refine geospatial workflows and improve data checks and error handling.
- Investigate and resolve data, system behavior, and performance issues.
- Translate ambiguous regulatory and internal requirements into actionable engineering work.
- Adapt system components to remain consistent with changing EU regulatory requirements.
- Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and improve system observability.
