Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a relevant field (Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing, Genetics, Pharmacy, etc.).
  • 15+ years of access and/or sales experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
  • Experience in rare disease and drug launch execution.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare reimbursement processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the payer environment, including government (Medicaid) and commercial payers.
  • Experience working with specialty pharmacy networks and patient services hubs.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and AI.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of compliance with HIPAA regulations, OIG guidance, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel 50-60%, including occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an innovative family access strategy to support patient access to rare disease products.
  • Manage, coach, and provide leadership to a team of Family Access Managers (FAM) to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee the development of FAM tools and collaborate with pharmacies, health systems, and providers to secure patient access.
  • Ensure all patient access and reimbursement activities strictly adhere to healthcare regulations, corporate compliance, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal advocacy teams, the Hub, and external stakeholders to facilitate access.
  • Utilize data analysis and reporting tools to evaluate process efficiency and implement necessary operational improvements.
  • Monitor changes in healthcare policy and market dynamics to adapt access strategies effectively.
  • Manage the team budget and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
