Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
  • 8+ years of payment fraud experience with hands-on exposure to card issuing or payment acquiring.
  • Demonstrated experience selecting, implementing or managing fraud detection platforms and making build-vs-buy technology decisions.
  • Working knowledge of card scheme fraud rules (Visa, Mastercard) and liability frameworks.
  • Understanding of open-loop prepaid issuing risk, elder/scam fraud, and gift card money-laundering typologies.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills with comfort working directly with rules, logic, and case data.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage vendor relationships and budgets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including reporting to executive management.
  • Professional certification in fraud, payments or financial crime (CFE, CFCS, CAMS or similar) is preferred.
  • Experience supporting large-scale issuing or platform partnerships with major technology companies is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead epay's global fraud strategy, systems roadmap and policy framework across all business lines.
  • Design and improve detection controls for gift card fraud, including elder/scam typologies and money-laundering vectors.
  • Own the fraud risk framework for open-loop prepaid card programs covering card-not-present, account takeover, and load/redemption abuse.
  • Partner with European payment acquiring business to manage merchant and transaction-level fraud risk and scheme compliance.
  • Evaluate fraud detection and case management platforms to own the build-vs-buy decision for core fraud technology.
  • Develop and maintain global fraud policies, detection rules and risk appetite thresholds.
  • Manage relationships with third-party fraud vendors and hold them accountable to performance standards.
  • Build and report consolidated fraud KPIs and metrics for Executive Management.
  • Partner with Compliance, Product, Engineering and regional leaders to embed fraud controls into new products.
  • Build, mentor and lead a global team of fraud analysts, investigators and engineers.
