Requirements
- Substantial hands-on experience in U.S. medical billing and coding.
- Strong proficiency in ICD-10 coding and medical billing codes.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle and clinical documentation.
- Experience with electronic claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and A/R follow-up.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently in a remote environment.
- Reliable laptop or desktop, noise-canceling headset, and high-speed internet (min 25 Mbps).
- Previous outpatient physical therapy billing experience (highly preferred).
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity (highly preferred).
- Experience with Jane App or comparable EHR/practice management platforms (preferred).
- Must be able to provide NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Review clinical documentation and accurately code outpatient physical therapy services using ICD-10 standards.
- Submit clean claims promptly and monitor outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and prior authorization requirements before services.
- Manage the full denial, appeal, and correction process to resolve reimbursement discrepancies.
- Communicate professionally with patients, insurance carriers, and clinical staff regarding billing and account status.
- Serve as a team lead to prioritize billing workloads, support team accountability, and optimize revenue cycle workflows.
- Provide secondary office management support and assist with operational problem-solving.
