Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in backend or systems work.
- Strong proficiency in Go and/or Python; TypeScript/Node.js experience is useful.
- Expertise in PostgreSQL, schema design, migrations, and query performance.
- Proven experience with distributed, cross-service debugging and tracing.
- Ability to engineer third-party integrations with a focus on idempotency and failure recovery.
- Knowledge of reliability practices including observability, structured logging, and failure-mode analysis.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with building and validating LLM-backed services.
- Strong CS fundamentals with the ability to model unfamiliar systems before modifying them.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services across a microservices estate using Go, NestJS/TypeScript, and Python.
- Own the AI-backed document processing and classification service, including extraction quality and pipeline accuracy.
- Develop and maintain third-party platform integrations, managing authentication, sync cadence, and failure recovery.
- Model data schemas, migrations, and invariants to ensure system integrity.
- Debug complex cross-service issues by correlating behavior across multiple systems and databases.
- Implement observability and provenance tracking for automated workflows.
- Define and monitor system correctness, reliability measures, and AI output evaluation metrics.
- Mentor mid-level engineers, lead design reviews, and document architectural decisions.
