Requirements
- J.D. degree and active U.S. bar membership in good standing.
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience, with expertise in negotiating enterprise SaaS agreements and strategic partnerships.
- Significant in-house legal experience, ideally within a high-growth technology or cloud organization.
- Deep knowledge of SaaS business models, cloud services, and global commercial operations.
- Strong working knowledge of global privacy and data protection laws.
- Demonstrated experience counseling product and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Understanding of legal considerations surrounding AI, including governance, data use, and emerging regulations.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring legal professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Strong strategic planning, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Experience with AI-enabled legal technology and tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial legal function and act as the senior legal owner for complex enterprise SaaS agreements, MSAs, and strategic partnerships.
- Draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated commercial agreements while managing high-risk negotiations with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Advise on global privacy and data protection matters, including GDPR, CCPA, and AI governance.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to embed privacy and data protection practices into the product lifecycle.
- Build and improve legal playbooks, templates, and AI-enabled workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
- Mentor and develop legal professionals while fostering a high-performing legal function.
- Deliver commercially focused legal advice to senior leadership and provide training on contracting and risk management.
