Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating systems at scale.
- Professional experience with one or more programming languages such as Ruby/Ruby on Rails, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Scala.
- Ability to write efficient, reliable, and maintainable production-quality code.
- Understanding of architectural patterns for large-scale web applications, including APIs and high-volume data pipelines.
- Comfort working across disciplines and collaborating with product, design, data science, and operations teams.
- Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical problem-solving skills for investigating complex systems.
- Experience in Trust & Safety, fraud prevention, or risk management is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate large-scale backend systems that detect fraudulent activity using rules, machine learning models, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Investigate end-to-end systems to identify vulnerabilities and methods for fraud detection and prevention.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including machine learning engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to deliver high-impact fraud prevention initiatives.
- Develop tooling and automation to enable operations teams to mitigate fraudulent activity more efficiently.
- Design and implement user verification mechanisms that minimize disruption to legitimate users.
- Build and improve data pipelines and infrastructure for machine learning and fraud detection.
- Write high-performance, production-quality code and contribute to scalable architectural solutions.
