Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience working with telephony and VoIP systems.
- 7+ years of hands-on production experience with Asterisk PBX.
- 3+ years of experience in technical leadership, managing engineering teams or projects.
- Deep knowledge of SIP, RTP, SRTP, IAX2, DAHDI, and codec negotiation.
- Strong scripting and development capabilities using Python and Bash.
- Strong Linux administration skills and proficiency with CLI-based networking tools.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure).
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL) and REST APIs.
- Proficiency with packet-level troubleshooting tools like Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Zabbix.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing optimization of Asterisk-based VoIP platforms.
- Design and scale highly available telephony infrastructure integrating SIP trunks, codecs, and real-time communication components.
- Guide engineering teams in developing and optimizing AGI, ARI, and AMI-based automation.
- Lead cloud telephony deployments across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
- Own technical direction for complex VoIP troubleshooting, including NAT traversal, QoS, and SIP signaling.
- Mentor engineers and developers on Asterisk best practices, system design, and architecture.
- Establish and maintain security and compliance practices including TLS, SRTP, and fraud prevention.
