Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Typically 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, or approximately 3+ years with an advanced degree.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
- Strong professional experience developing production backend applications using Java and frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, transactions, and application-level data integrity using relational or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment technologies like AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Experience with event-driven systems and messaging or streaming technologies like Kafka.
- Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, concurrency, and design patterns.
- Experience building observability and troubleshooting distributed applications.
- Experience in cryptocurrency, fintech, payments, or trading systems is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality backend services and APIs using Java and related technologies.
- Own backend features and projects throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
- Design scalable, reliable, and performant services for high-throughput applications, applying sound principles for distributed systems, data integrity, security, and fault tolerance.
- Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and other Engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into effective solutions.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, databases, messaging systems, and other backend components.
- Participate in technical design and code reviews, contributing to engineering standards.
- Build appropriate automated testing, monitoring, logging, and observability into services to support reliable production operations.
- Investigate production issues, participate in incident response, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
