Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production applications.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to design clean, maintainable solutions.
- Proven track record of independently taking meaningful features or technical initiatives from definition through production.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Design to understand customer needs.
- Ability to solve for patterns and systems rather than one-off instances.
- Strong technical judgment with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs and communicate reasoning.
- History of working effectively with cross-functional partners and contributing to the growth of others.
- Eagerness to learn unfamiliar technologies, including Elixir (prior experience not required).
Responsibilities
- Own meaningful product and technical initiatives from design and scoping through implementation, launch, and iteration.
- Build reliable, maintainable systems that power experiences including real-time scheduling, client booking, marketing automation, and the tools professionals use to run their businesses.
- Partner closely with Product and Design to understand customer problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop thoughtful technical solutions.
- Contribute to technical design and architecture in your area while balancing scalability, maintainability, performance, and delivery speed.
- Build across our platform based on your area of expertise, whether that's React and TypeScript on the frontend, backend services and event-driven systems, or end-to-end product development.
- Own the quality of what you ship through testing, code review, observability, and ongoing production support.
- Collaborate with and mentor other engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Continuously improve how we build and ship software, including thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools.
