Requirements

  • Previous experience in customer service, healthcare revenue cycle, medical collections, accounts receivable, or call center operations is beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain sensitive information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen actively and provide appropriate account solutions.
  • Comfortable discussing financial information and negotiating payment arrangements.
  • Strong attention to detail for account research and accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work toward measurable productivity and quality targets.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare collections and regulations (HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA) or willingness to learn.
  • Proficient in using telephone systems, computers, and multiple applications.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and adapt to changing procedures.
  • Must be available Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST, with one weekly shift from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate professionally with patients regarding medical account balances, repayment options, and outstanding obligations via telephone, email, chat, and text.
  • Provide high-quality customer service by resolving account issues and explaining complex account information clearly.
  • Profile patients and accurately collect/update demographic and financial information.
  • Research patient accounts, document findings, and route accounts through appropriate workflows.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements while working toward assigned resolution and productivity objectives.
  • Handle outbound and inbound calls effectively using company telephone systems.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all patient contacts and research.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA, the Privacy Act, and relevant state regulations.
