Requirements

  • Customer service or call center experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare billing, insurance, and claims concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex billing information to patients.
  • Comfort working across multiple systems and tools simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual environment.
  • Must reside in AL, GA, ID, IA, IN, KS, LA, MI, MS, NV, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TX, TN, UT, VA, WV, WI, or WY.

Responsibilities

  • Process patient payments accurately via phone in accordance with financial responsibility policies.
  • Create and maintain patient payment plans following established guidelines.
  • Interpret and explain claim notes, balances, and billing outcomes to patients.
  • Verify, audit, and update insurance information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Resubmit pending or corrected claims within the EMR.
  • Educate patients on billing concepts such as deductibles, coinsurance, and claim denials.
  • Research account history to determine root causes of billing concerns.
  • Navigate multiple billing systems and EMR platforms simultaneously.
  • Maintain HIPAA requirements and data privacy standards.
