Requirements
- Customer service or call center experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications.
- Solid understanding of healthcare billing, insurance, and claims concepts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Analytical problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail.
- Ability to clearly explain complex billing information to patients.
- Comfort working across multiple systems and tools simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative approach.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual environment.
- Must reside in AL, GA, ID, IA, IN, KS, LA, MI, MS, NV, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TX, TN, UT, VA, WV, WI, or WY.
Responsibilities
- Process patient payments accurately via phone in accordance with financial responsibility policies.
- Create and maintain patient payment plans following established guidelines.
- Interpret and explain claim notes, balances, and billing outcomes to patients.
- Verify, audit, and update insurance information for completeness and accuracy.
- Resubmit pending or corrected claims within the EMR.
- Educate patients on billing concepts such as deductibles, coinsurance, and claim denials.
- Research account history to determine root causes of billing concerns.
- Navigate multiple billing systems and EMR platforms simultaneously.
- Maintain HIPAA requirements and data privacy standards.
