Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent professional experience; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s degree).
- Proven experience in software engineering and technical leadership.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting engineers across multiple product teams.
- Strong background in cloud-based or distributed systems architecture.
- Experience designing and maintaining complex asynchronous messaging and backend processing systems.
- Understanding of scalable architecture, system reliability, and observability.
- Experience translating business objectives into engineering priorities and delivery plans.
- Experience coaching engineers in technical problem-solving and professional development.
- Experience with Go or other modern cloud-native programming languages.
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms and managed database, messaging, and API technologies.
- Experience with agile product development and modern software engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of cloud software engineers.
- Contribute to technical architecture, design reviews, and high-level platform strategy.
- Guide the development of Go-based cloud services including APIs and event-streaming.
- Partner with Product, Security, and Regulatory teams to translate business needs into engineering outcomes.
- Ensure platform solutions meet standards for reliability, scalability, and security.
- Balance delivery commitments with technical debt reduction and long-term platform health.
- Establish modern engineering practices like automated testing and continuous delivery.
- Identify and communicate delivery risks, trade-offs, and dependencies to stakeholders.
