Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of professional experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years.
- Demonstrated success designing and evolving complex, production-grade software platforms.
- Deep expertise in C++17 and recent C++ standards.
- Proficiency with Python for scripting and system integration.
- Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or complex embedded environments using middleware with pub-sub patterns.
- Strong experience with systems-level software design, managing technical debt, and refactoring large codebases.
- Experience establishing engineering standards and mentoring engineers through design and code reviews.
- Strong mastery of software engineering fundamentals including concurrency, design patterns, and testing strategies.
- Experience with testing, continuous integration, and build systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and evolution of core frameworks including state management, inter-component communication, and abstraction layers.
- Drive technical direction for real-time C++ components responsible for system-wide data flow, coordination, and observability.
- Establish scalable architectural patterns that enable autonomous driving capabilities while shaping long-term platform strategy.
- Collaborate with Behavior and Perception teams to maintain clean integration boundaries and coherent abstractions.
- Lead architecture reviews and code reviews while establishing engineering standards for reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
- Mentor engineers through technical coaching and guidance to raise engineering standards across the organization.
- Champion architectural quality through systematic validation, testing strategies, and production readiness practices.
- Contribute to root cause analysis of platform-level issues to enhance system reliability and performance.
