- Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret energy and commercial contracts, including BESS agreements, tolling agreements, PPAs, interconnection agreements, and equipment supply agreements.
- Advise on structuring, negotiating, and closing battery storage and other energy storage transactions.
- Advise sales and partnership teams on legal implications, risks, and opportunities associated with commercial structures.
- Provide guidance on regulatory and market-specific issues affecting energy storage and demand response transactions across ISO/RTO markets.
- Prepare, maintain, and improve template agreements, playbooks, training, and operational guidance.
- Mentor junior legal team members on contract negotiation and energy industry matters.
- Work with sales operations, product, finance, marketing, field operations, regulatory, and engineering teams.
- Develop processes to support compliance with contractual commitments and advise client teams on related issues.
- Define and implement legal department workflow and process best practices.
