Requirements
- Proven track record as a leader who has built and operated technology at scale.
- Deep background in infrastructure and operations with security layered over it.
- Demonstrated ability to do more with less, prioritizing automation over headcount.
- Strong hands-on technical skills with the ability to architect controls or review Terraform changes.
- Significant experience with GCP; strong AWS or Azure experience also considered.
- Expertise in Zero Trust access and modern SaaS estate management.
- Experience managing compliance programs like SOC 2 or ISO 27001 as an accountable owner.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, remote-first environment.
- Comfort and experience reporting to executive leadership and board levels.
Responsibilities
- Own the full technology and security remit, including infrastructure, identity, and applications.
- Lead and coach the IT & Security Operations, Cloud Platform Engineering, and GRC functions.
- Mature security operations by driving investment in Google SecOps and n8n for orchestration and response.
- Manage global IAM, ZTNA, cloud perimeter, and end-user compute for a macOS/ChromeOS fleet.
- Own the enterprise compliance program including SOC-2 and ISO 27001 initiatives.
- Act as customer zero by testing internal UpGuard Cyber Risk products to provide feedback to Product and Sales teams.
- Brief the executive team, Steering Committee, and Board on security posture.
