Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Proven experience in a SaaS or subscription-based software company.
- Strong understanding and application of ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Proven ability to manage and develop direct reports.
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort using AI tools for accounting and billing workflows.
- Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to research complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder education.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Public accounting background is preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Paylocity is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee revenue accounting activities including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, MRR reconciliation, and billing oversight.
- Manage the revenue recognition lifecycle in compliance with ASC 606.
- Review and approve sales orders in NetSuite to ensure proper revenue treatment and contract alignment.
- Manage the billing terminations process in NetSuite and Salesforce.
- Collaborate with Billing, Legal, and Customer Success teams on contract reviews and non-standard agreements.
- Manage and mentor the Billing Manager, providing performance feedback and development support.
- Support month-end close activities, including revenue close, AR reconciliation, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Provide backup payroll processing support in Paylocity as needed.
