Requirements
- 4+ years of electrical engineering design experience in the construction or power systems industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in designing power systems for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing, or medical facilities.
- Demonstrated experience with Arc Flash Studies, Protective Device Coordination, and Short Circuit Analysis.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and IEEE 1584 standards.
- Strong understanding of National and International Building Codes.
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, BIM, Revit, and power system analysis software (SKM, ETAP, Easy Power).
- Experience working independently, managing priorities, and mentoring junior staff.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity, and team-oriented.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems and perform detailed design calculations focused on power system analysis.
- Lead and perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, and Protective Device Coordination using software like SKM, ETAP, or Easy Power.
- Review, sign, and seal projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct site visits for data collection, validation of as-built conditions, and client coordination related to Arc Flash labeling and safety compliance.
- Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders; prepare record drawings; participate in inspections and commissioning.
- Write and edit specifications for electrical equipment including overcurrent protective devices, switchgear, and transformers.
- Assist in developing internal standards and templates for electrical safety analysis deliverables.
