Requirements

  • Clinical background/licensure (RN, MD/DO, PharmD, etc.) or a graduate degree in Clinical/Health Informatics.
  • 10+ years of experience in clinical informatics, quality, CDI, or population health analytics.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building data pipelines and/or ML models in Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience applying AI/ML, including NLP/LLM techniques, to clinical or claims data.
  • Deep working knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and risk-adjustment models (e.g., APR-DRG, MS-DRG, HCC/RAF).
  • Expertise in hospital ranking/rating methodologies (e.g., CMS Star Ratings, Leapfrog, Vizient).
  • Ability to operate with director-level strategic scope as an individual contributor.
  • Strong communication skills for translating technical findings for executive and physician audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain expert knowledge of hospital ranking and benchmarking methodologies (e.g., CMS Star Ratings, Leapfrog, U.S. News).
  • Translate methodology technical specifications into analytic models and data requirements.
  • Develop and validate AI/ML and rules-based algorithms to detect documentation, coding, and clinical process gaps.
  • Apply NLP and LLM-based approaches to mine clinical notes and claims data for actionable insights.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines and feature stores in Databricks.
  • Deploy predictive and generative AI models with focus on governance and HIPAA compliance.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to C-suite and clinical leadership regarding quality strategy and reputational risk.
  • Design benchmarking dashboards to track performance against ranking metrics.
