Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience at a Staff level or equivalent scope.
- Deep expertise in data-platform engineering, specifically streaming and batch pipelines, distributed storage, and production operations (Spark, HBase, Databricks).
- Strong Java proficiency or a comparable systems-programming background.
- Experience with schema design, versioning, and managing cross-team data contracts.
- AWS-native operational experience (EMR, S3, SNS, SQS).
- Proven track record of influencing peer teams without direct authority.
- Experience in vendor-facing technical collaboration and technical specification negotiation.
- Working fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools like Claude.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrable experience working in an agile, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for the team's next generation and serve as the senior technical voice.
- Own the identity data model, including schemas, cross-ecosystem mapping, and deduplication.
- Architect and manage streaming and batch pipelines using Java, Spark, HBase, and Databricks.
- Design and version data contracts to ensure stability for downstream consumers.
- Lead commercial vendor ingestion and represent the company in technical negotiations with external teams.
- Explore and apply AI/ML techniques for identity re-discovery and package deduplication.
- Maintain high system reliability through alarm triage, SLO management, and cost optimization.
