Requirements
- Extensive experience with enterprise design systems or complex multi-product platforms.
- Proven expertise in governance, adoption, documentation, accessibility, and contribution models.
- Deep experience in at least one of: enterprise SaaS, CRM, developer tools, commerce, or data-heavy products.
- Experience designing reusable components including anatomy, states, variants, and responsive behaviors.
- Experience owning visual foundations at scale, such as tokens, theming, color, typography, and motion.
- Strong track record of engineering partnership on component APIs, tokens, and front-end architecture.
- Staff-level autonomy in identifying problems, setting direction, and driving resolution.
- Strong product craft with the ability to balance consistency, usability, and implementation reality.
- Ability to communicate system decisions clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Portfolio demonstrating system-level work rather than isolated screens.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve a major focus area within Trellis: Tokens and Visual Language, Components, or Patterns.
- Partner with product, engineering, content design, research, and design technology to define usable, scalable, and accessible system guidance.
- Make high-judgment system decisions that balance consistency, flexibility, and technical constraints.
- Reduce fragmentation across HubSpot by creating shared foundations for team adoption.
- Improve alignment between Figma, documentation, and front-end implementation to increase usability.
- Define usage guidance that supports designers, engineers, and AI-assisted tools.
- Partner with product teams to address adoption friction, edge cases, and implementation gaps.
- Contribute to governance and contribution models to allow the system to evolve effectively.
- Support accessibility, internationalization, and responsive behavior as core requirements.
- Collaborate on component APIs, design tokens, and system tooling to facilitate AI-assisted development.
