Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in health data, clinical informatics, EMR/health IT, or interoperability.
- Direct experience taking data-sharing or integration projects from first contact through production data flow.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with hospital IT, compliance, and operational stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, data use agreements, and BAAs as applied to technical infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with cloud deployments and Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and Python for data processing.
- Experience managing sensitive data (PHI) in secure environments.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate as an individual contributor while planning for team growth.
- Comfort reviewing contracts and statements of work in partnership with legal teams.
- Understanding of unstructured data extraction (OCR, NLP) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary point of contact for hospital partners, including IT leadership and compliance officers.
- Lead data access negotiations from initial conversation through contract execution and live data flow.
- Manage end-to-end implementation of secure data connections and integration project timelines.
- Oversee infrastructure deployment using Terraform and cloud technologies, ensuring secure handling of PHI.
- Ensure technical implementation aligns with HIPAA, HITECH, and contractual data use agreements.
- Perform hands-on data processing, normalization, and validation of incoming clinical data.
- Write SQL queries for feasibility and patient counts within partner environments.
- Develop internal playbooks and processes to scale the implementation function and team.
