Requirements
- Extensive back-end engineering experience.
- Experience building and running microservices and distributed systems in production.
- Extensive experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
- Experience with systems where correctness is a hard requirement, such as ledgers, accounting, billing, or payments, ideally in a regulated setting.
- Experience leading a feature or project end to end from scoping to production.
- Daily use of AI tools like Cursor or Claude Code for development and research.
- Strong technical or mathematical foundation (degree in quantitative field or equivalent experience).
- Ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to business stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills for pairing, code review, and unblocking team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of projects involving many stakeholders and systems.
- Architect and implement scalable solutions for complex challenges like account lifecycles, interest and repayment allocation, and reconciliation.
- Use domain modelling to structure software that is easy to understand, test, and evolve.
- Translate ambiguous product requirements into clear, actionable technical plans.
- Own what you ship in production by fixing live issues and ensuring reliability.
- Develop deep expertise in core financial products to serve as a trusted technical advisor.
- Perform detailed technical scoping and prototyping for feasibility testing.
