Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in technical writing, knowledge management, or documentation.
- Demonstrated experience establishing and managing knowledge management systems from scratch.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts and engineering terminology into accessible user-facing documentation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, and Visio.
- Knowledge of documentation and compliance requirements related to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), RMF, and ATO processes.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and operate effectively under general direction.
- Must possess an appropriate Secret security clearance, including IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive or Tier 3 (T3) eligibility.
- Ability to travel to Columbus, Ohio for onsite meetings approximately once per month for up to three days.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Translate technical terminology and engineering concepts into clear user manuals, training materials, installation guides, and reports.
- Plan, design, implement, and manage the program's knowledge management system from the ground up, including ongoing governance and maintenance.
- Develop documentation and training materials supporting database modernization, UI/UX deployments, and other technology transformation initiatives.
- Produce documentation and artifacts required to demonstrate appropriate controls in support of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities.
- Edit and proofread functional descriptions, system specifications, and customer deliverables for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Maintain document tracking, logging, version control, and content organization across project artifacts.
- Ensure documentation is appropriately marked, handled, and safeguarded as Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
