Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with AWS and Terraform in a production environment.
- Experience provisioning AWS infrastructure through a CI/CD pipeline (GitLab, Github, Harness, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with RDS/Aurora operations including backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery at the infrastructure level.
- Solid understanding of AWS security and compliance controls.
- Proficiency in AWS networking components such as VPC, Subnets, and Transit Gateways.
- Experience automating operational tasks with Python or Go.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to trace symptoms to root causes independently.
- Excellent communication skills under pressure.
- Nice to have: Experience with Docker, Vault, ProxySQL, and general relational database familiarity (MySQL or similar).
Responsibilities
- Act as the escalation point for diagnosing and resolving broken Terraform, pipelines, or process-related issues.
- Write clear Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for significant incidents.
- Build and maintain Terraform for provisioning AWS RDS and Aurora database infrastructure.
- Manage GitLab or Harness CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment.
- Automate recurring operational work using Python or Go.
- Implement AWS security best practices, including IAM roles, KMS encryption, Security Groups, and Network ACLs.
- Build and improve incident-response tooling for automated support query routing.
- Own and improve documentation including runbooks, operational guides, and disaster recovery procedures.
