Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise integration engineering or architecture.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale federal healthcare or enterprise EHR modernization programs.
- Strong technical proficiency with VistA or MUMPS-based interfaces and VistA data structures.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate AI-generated technical outputs for accuracy and correctness.
- Hands-on experience with API design, middleware technologies, and enterprise integration frameworks.
- Experience implementing integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and messaging technologies.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards including HL7, FHIR, and CDA.
- Knowledge of cloud integration architectures within AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance within federal environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise integration architecture supporting VA modernization initiatives.
- Develop integration strategies connecting legacy VistA/MUMPS systems with modern cloud-based and enterprise applications.
- Critically evaluate AI-generated interface maps, data flow analyses, and dependency diagrams for accuracy against VistA data structures.
- Architect APIs, middleware, and data exchange solutions across enterprise healthcare systems.
- Support interoperability initiatives utilizing healthcare standards including HL7, FHIR, and RESTful APIs.
- Design scalable integration frameworks supporting real-time and batch processing requirements.
- Define integration patterns, standards, and governance models across the enterprise.
- Develop technical documentation including interface control documents, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.
