Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience serving as an advisor, strategist, or senior leader within political, labor, advocacy, or democratic organizations.
- Proven experience managing coalitions, steering committees, boards, or other governing bodies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff, set expectations, develop talent, and lead performance management.
- Experience working with elected officials, candidates, and community organizations to advance shared political priorities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to facilitate complex conversations and build consensus across diverse stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of organizational decision-making and systemic governance.
- Knowledge of California's political and movement ecosystem preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the State Director and Steering Committee to develop and implement statewide political and organizational strategies.
- Serve as primary staff lead for the California State Steering Committee, including agenda development and meeting facilitation.
- Lead the execution of California WFP's statewide co-governance strategy and organize annual convenings.
- Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, labor leaders, and coalition partners to advance shared policy priorities.
- Manage regional steering committees and ensure alignment between statewide priorities and regional strategies.
- Supervise staff and foster cross-departmental coordination across organizing, electoral, and governance teams.
- Represent the organization in coalition spaces and strategic political discussions.
