Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with complex backend applications.
- Experience building or operating production authentication and identity systems.
- Strong background in systems where correctness and availability are critical.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Rust, or Python.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms like AWS.
- Track record of managing backward-compatible changes, staged rollouts, and safe cutovers.
- Strong experience with production ownership and on-call rotations.
Responsibilities
- Own LaunchDarkly’s authentication surface end to end including single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, login/session flows, and API token authentication.
- Build enterprise identity capabilities such as multiple IdP support and MFA enforcement.
- Improve operational health by implementing SLOs, actionable alerting, and sustainable on-call practices.
- Collaborate with Product Security on threat modeling, audit logging, and compliance regimes like SOC 2 and FedRAMP.
- Provide technical direction for the identity team and mentor engineers through design reviews.
