Requirements
- 5–7+ years of accounting experience with U.S.-based companies, including full-cycle function ownership.
- Strong knowledge of construction or job-costed accounting practices.
- Full professional fluency in English (written & verbal).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and experience integrating external applications.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive) and digital communication tools like Slack and Zoom.
- Proven success managing external stakeholders and cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to make sound financial judgments in fast-paced, high-growth settings.
- Experience reviewing or guiding the work of other accounting staff is a plus.
- Familiarity with federal or government-funded project accounting is a plus.
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own the full accounting cycle including reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting.
- Oversee job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules across multiple active construction jobs.
- Manage percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and progress billing for residential, commercial, and federal projects.
- Lead the integration and optimization of external applications with QuickBooks Online.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, expense management, subcontractor payments, and vendor interactions.
- Ensure compliance for federally funded projects including certified payroll and prevailing wage documentation.
- Review and guide the work of accounting support staff and bookkeepers.
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
