Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle month-end close ownership.
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks or a similar general ledger system.
  • Experience with multi-state and/or international tax compliance.
  • Experience managing equity administration platforms and stock compensation accounting (ASC 718).
  • Experience reviewing or managing the work of a junior team member or outsourced provider.
  • Track record of improving or modernizing accounting processes and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
  • CPA or active CPA candidacy strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with fintech tools (e.g., Brex) and payroll/PEO platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own weekly AR/AP aging reviews, manage vendor payments, and maintain cash controls.
  • Manage tax filing accuracy and compliance across federal, state, and international jurisdictions.
  • Oversee equity administration including 409A cadence, grant bookings, and stock compensation.
  • Execute the full monthly close, including revenue recognition and consolidated financial statements.
  • Build and maintain a rolling multi-year forecast and provide executive-level financial reporting.
  • Partner with department leaders on budget-vs-actual reviews and financial insights.
  • Directly supervise and review the work of a Contracted Jr. Accountant.
  • Modernize accounting infrastructure, processes, and automation to enable scaling.
