Requirements
- 6+ years of PR and media relations experience, preferably in an agency setting.
- Proven success in executing media campaigns and established relationships with healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, and national media reporters.
- Experience building media strategy, monitoring trends, and story-mining.
- Specific experience with healthcare accounts such as pharma, biotech, health tech, or hospital systems.
- Background in disease state areas (e.g., rare disease, oncology, mental health).
- Ability to distill complex scientific data into digestible content for media and consumers.
- Strong project management skills, including timeline and deadline management.
- Demonstrated professional presence with client-facing experience.
- Strong writing and editing skills for professional media materials.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience with media monitoring tools such as Muckrack.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Provide media relations counsel to health clients in collaboration with the Senior Vice President and Health Media team.
- Collaborate with Health Media Specialists to identify synergies and share best practices.
- Develop a bi-weekly newsletter on media insights for the healthcare practice and clients.
- Contribute strategic input for integrated communications plans to achieve client business goals.
- Identify and build relationships with target media and influencers to secure coverage.
- Execute media outreach, including pitching, media list development, and content creation.
- Develop client-ready materials such as press releases, backgrounders, and FAQs.
- Deploy project management skills to maintain timelines and manage client expectations.
