Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software design and development, including building and operating production systems at scale.
- Strong full-stack fundamentals, including backend services, APIs, and frontend (web or mobile).
- Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks (Go, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-team or cross-org projects from inception through rollout.
- Experience building AI-powered or data-driven products.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Track record of building zero-to-one products and solving hard, ambiguous problems.
- Experience shipping AI-powered features in production (nice-to-have).
- Comfort with AI-augmented development workflows like Cursor or LLMs (nice-to-have).
- Background with real-world operational data like telematics or sensor data (nice-to-have).
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas.
- Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities from backend to UI.
- Design and ship full-stack features end to end.
- Partner with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate ambiguous problems into technical plans.
- Build and scale systems behind AI-driven products, including data ingestion and APIs.
- Raise the bar through code reviews, design reviews, and technical mentorship.
- Embed Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales.
