Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading applied research, evaluation, or consulting engagements from design through delivery.
- Expertise in qualitative research methods and familiarity with quantitative or mixed-method evaluation.
- Experience developing research plans, designing data collection instruments, and overseeing analysis.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships, project scope, budgets, timelines, and risks.
- Strong experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent writing, presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in shifting environments.
- Availability to travel 1-4 times per year.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of applied research and evaluation engagements, including research frameworks, data collection, and analysis.
- Apply qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research approaches to generate actionable insights.
- Oversee field research methods such as surveys, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and user experience research.
- Develop clear, evidence-based client deliverables including reports, presentations, and executive summaries.
- Build trusted client relationships and advise on utility programs and customer challenges.
- Manage project planning, budget, financial tracking, risk management, and successful delivery.
- Mentor and develop team members in applied research, evaluation practice, and consulting skills.
