Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Systems, or related engineering field with 10+ years experience; Master's with 7+ years; or PhD with 5+ years.
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Extensive knowledge of simulation-based testing applications, including recompute simulation.
- Proven experience developing test scenarios and debugging complex software issues.
- Experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation methodologies.
- Strong technical leadership abilities for virtual testing events across the software stack.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing senior individual contributors.
- Experience reporting technical progress and risks to management.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python (bonus).
- Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) (bonus).
- Knowledge of Test-Driven Development and test framework architectures (bonus).
- Experience with Agile methodologies like Kanban or Scrum (bonus).
Responsibilities
- Define, build, and support testing of autonomous trucks in a virtual testing environment.
- Own technical direction and key architecture decisions for simulation-based test environments and infrastructure.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for simulation features, test scenario generation, and tool adoption.
- Develop simulation-based test scenarios and oversee the execution of test plans.
- Identify requirements for new virtual testing tools and simulations of vehicle sensors.
- Drive alignment across verification, model delivery, and autonomy consumer teams.
- Formally mentor and develop engineers on the team.
- Lead process improvements for simulation-based testing and report on progress and technical risk.
