Requirements
- Degree in economics or finance or equivalent experience in financial services, consulting, or fintech.
- A couple of years of industry experience.
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic drivers (interest rates, inflation, credit dynamics) and their impact on financial services.
- Proven experience building macroeconomic monitoring dashboards from scratch.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and complex formulas using Google Sheets/Excel.
- Experience using modern productivity tools like Google Workspace and Gemini.
- Ability to synthesize complex quantitative and macro narratives into clear written and verbal insights for senior stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Resilience and ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Collaborative mindset to work across three lines of defense.
Responsibilities
- Translate global macroeconomic indicators and emerging industry risks into quantitative and qualitative views of Monzo’s strategic risk profile.
- Develop strategic risk oversight dashboards from scratch using internal business data and external macroeconomic signals.
- Produce monthly strategic risk oversight reports and analysis for the Group Chief Risk Officer.
- Conduct thematic risk deep-dives on complex market developments, geopolitical events, and emerging structural shifts.
- Support the core operations of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) as Monzo scales.
- Prepare materials for Group Executive and Board risk committees.
- Maintain user-facing documentation, training, and process guidance for risk frameworks.
