Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
- Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
- Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
- Experience supporting large-scale traffic events like Prime Day or Black Friday.
- Experience tuning autoscaling, CPU/Memory, and multi-threading for compute workloads.
- Ability to define technical and execution plans for major features.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale.
- Collaborate across the product development lifecycle with product management, design, and analytics.
- Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
- Manage team operations including monitoring, triage, playbooks, and testing.
- Foster a culture of quality by setting code review and design standards.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leadership by example.
